A well-loved Californian bungalow family home in need of an update yet keeping the original style in which it was built in mind. With tired cabinetry, dated finishes and limited storage, a vision was drawn upon to encapsulate personality and function to the main hub of the home.

The overall project incorporated the reconfiguration of the kitchen and laundry, additional linen press and introduction of a study nook. An extensive, reconstituted stone island bench, walk-in pantry, soft close cabinetry and mindful storage solutions resulted in a fully equipped kitchen to service a busy, working family effortlessly. The colour palette specified for the kitchen is reflected throughout the adjoining spaces to achieve continuity and flow. Freshly painted interior walls, soft hues of sage and warm white cabinetry with organic, oak timber cabinetry handles were specified to compliment the newly rejuvenated original floorboards. Australian made encaustic wall tiles add a dynamic injection of colour and pattern to the space, although still allowing the overall design to remain classic and timeless.
